Higher Education and University Application in Turkey
There are 2 types of universities in Turkey: State and Private Universities. All universities are supervised by YÖK. At least one associate, undergraduate, postgraduate and post-doctoral programs are offered at all of these universities.
Admission to Universities in Turkey
Foreign students who are determined by the university about the case are accepted to universities in Turkey and meet the conditions approved by the Board of Higher Education.
Application to Undergraduate Programs
The following documents may be requested from foreign students seeking undergraduate education at universities in Turkey. The exact information on the subject can be learned by contacting the university where you want to study.
- International Student Admissions Form
- High School Diploma and its translation (Turkish or English)
- Certified Transcript and its translation (English or Turkish)
- Language Proficiency Certificate (It is essential that students meet the language proficiency level of the university. Candidates who do not meet this criterion are required to take the proficiency exam of the university. Students who cannot pass the proficiency exam must attend the English preparatory program of the university.)
University Entrance Exam Result with International Validity (To find out which valid exams should be contacted, the relevant university should be contacted. Students who did not get enough points from internationally valid exams can take their own exam of the university for international students.)
- Letter of Financial Guarantee
- Registration Fee
All documents required for registration must be submitted to the university to be attended before the deadline announced in the Academic Calendar.
Application to Graduate Programs
The following documents may be requested from foreign students who want to graduate education in Turkey. The exact information on the subject can be learned by contacting the university where you want to study.
- International Student Admission Form Undergraduate or Graduate Diploma and translation (Turkish or English)
- Certified Transcript and its translation (English or Turkish)
- Updated Resume Document
- Letter of Intent
- Letters of Recommendation
- Language Proficiency Certificate (Applicants should contact the relevant university for minimum English proficiency. Candidates who do not meet the language proficiency level of the university can take the proficiency exam of the university. Students who fail the proficiency exam must attend the English preparatory program of the university.)
- Graduate Entrance Exam Result (money in Turkey: ALES) (should be contacted regarding the validity exam for universities)
